LIVE IN CARER ROLE - SOUTH ARICAN APPLICANTS ONLY

ABOUT

AHC Recruitment is looking for compassionate live-in carers to support one of our valued clients in Nottinghamshire, UK.

We are seeking individuals with a desire to provide companionship and support, ensuring elderly clients can live independently in their homes. Previous care experience is preferred but not required, as multiple roles are available with full training provided for select positions.

This is the first phase of a multi-phase recruitment programme, with the first cohort starting on June 1st, 2025.

WHO CAN APPLY

We welcome applications from individuals currently living in South Africa. However, to be eligible for this role, you must have the legal right to work in the UK. This includes:

  • A British passport

  • Settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme

  • A current visa that permits work in the UK without restrictions

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Weekly Salary: £850 per week / 19,500 ZAR per week (pre-tax)

ROLE OVERVIEW 
As a live-in carer, your role is to support elderly individuals in maintaining their independence and dignity within their own homes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a comfortable home environment, ensuring cleanliness and organisation

  • Supporting family dynamics without interfering with parental roles in households with children

  • Allowing for quiet and solitude for both the elderly client and yourself

  • Using the elderly clients property and equipment safely and appropriately

  • Accompanying Service Users to social activities or appointments as required

  • Potentially providing personal care while respecting privacy and personal preferences

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 
To be considered for a live-in carer role, you must have:

  • Must have a high standard of written and conversational English

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

  • Clear police, occupational health, and reference checks

  • Strong professional and personal references

  • Good family cooking skills

  • The ability to manage a household and keep it clean

  • Previous professional care experience would be advantageous but not mandatory, such as:

    • Care assistant, home care assistant, domiciliary carer, healthcare assistant, or similar roles

    • Alternatively, recent experience providing personal care for a friend or family member
